I LOVE Christmas!
Seriously love it. It combines two of my favorite things… JESUS and ….. GLITTER! And who doesn’t love Jesus and glitter, right? Okay you don’t need to answer that. Regardless, I am still a fan. Naturally I love to decorate for the holidays and I drool for those fabulous Christmas decorations you see in magazines and fancy stores. I want one of everything! The problem for me is, those fancy decorations are like a gazillion bucks or might as well be. They are out of my budget. So I tend to shop at my local stores. But let’s face it, the merchandise selection isn’t quite the same. I don’t fret though because I can almost always find a budget friendly solution and a plan B. Plus, if I am being truly honest, I actually love the challenge. My motto is “just because it came to you that way doesn’t mean it has to stay that way”. I have lots of ideas for budget friendly solutions to creating beautiful Christmas décor.
For today, I have an easy one…
I picked up this sad set of lighted packages at my local drug store.
It was more than half off an already discount price. Not surprising. They didn’t look like much, but they had the basic structure I was looking for. Just a box with lights! Once home, I got out my Christmas ribbon and glue gun and went to work.
In 15 minutes these boxes transformed from blah to beautiful. A simple change in bows was all these lighted packages needed in order to become something gorgeous.
What do you think? Are you ready to spruce up some of your own Christmas décor?
