Oh my goodness, is it already week 4 of the One Room Challenge teen bedroom makeover? I can’t decide if I’m having the time of my life or I’m utterly miserable as I attempt to get it all done. I think it is a little of both. The challenge feels a lot like a rollercoaster ride. It’s one-part exhilarating and one-part I want to throw up. When it’s all over I have no doubt I will be ready to get right back in line and go again! Today is a panic kind of day. My to-do list is still uncomfortably long and I’m not sure how it will come together. I find myself praying a lot as I work. As of today, I have some furniture in the room but I haven’t completed the headboard. It is still in the garage. But just wait, the headboard is going to be good!!! And remember the nightstand makeover last week? Well here is the matching dresser.
I had to take the photo close to the window because the sun was going down at the time and the room was getting dark.
I don’t have many pictures of the room because for the last two weeks it has looked like a ladder convention in there. The wall is close to being done now but I don’t have photo to show you yet. I have snapped a few early on in the process. Here was my make shift scaffolding that made my husband very nervous. I did good Honey and didn’t fall off once! I did however drop my entire paint pallet of black and grey paint on the carpet…twice. Whoops. The wet/dry vac has now been added to the collection of ladders in the room. And if you are wondering about the tv and bean bag on the floor that was the kids doing. They like to come in while I am stuck on a ladder, move the tv, change the channel, eat, lounge and watch me work. They are currently up for adoption in case anyone is interested.
So on that note here is my list of projects for the weekend…
Build the desk
Build the cornice box
Finish headboard
Start the additional art work for the walls
Build the light fixture
Oh btw, I came up with a cool solution for a semi-flush light fixture in there. I am really geeked out about it and can’t wait to get it done.
Happy Creating,
